Registration of Marriage
Required documents:
- Written applications of the individuals intending to enter into marriage;
- Identity documents of the individuals intending to enter into marriage;
- Certificate of marital status issued by the competent authority of the country of citizenship or permanent residence for foreign nationals or stateless persons (the certificate is valid for six months from the date of issuance);
- Individuals who have previously been married must submit the certificate (or copy) of dissolution of marriage, or the certificate (or copy) of the death of the spouse, or a court decision (or extract thereof) that has entered into legal force declaring the marriage invalid;
- In cases where one of the persons who was in a de facto marital relationship prior to July 8, 1944, has died or gone missing, a court decision confirming the fact of such de facto marital relationship;
- Certificate confirming that the individuals intending to enter into marriage have undergone a medical examination;
- Document confirming payment of the state fee.
Note:
Documents issued by the competent authorities of foreign countries must bear an apostille or be duly legalized, translated into Azerbaijani, and notarized before submission.

• The individuals intending to enter into marriage.
State Fee: 10 (ten) US dollars
The marriage shall be registered no earlier than one month from the date on which the individuals intending to marry submit their application, and only in their presence.
