No:342/24, Press release on consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan

On 18 September 2024, the next round of consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in the city of Tashkent of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by the Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Emil Safarov, while the Uzbek delegation was headed by the Head of the Consular-Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bobur Azizov.
Officials from the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan also participated in the meeting from the Azerbaijani side, while representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, and the Agency for External Labor Migration of the Republic of Uzbekistan attended from the Uzbek side.
During the consultations, an exchange of views was also conducted on the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation in the consular field with Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan’s ally, including possibilities for signing new bilateral documents in this area.
At the same time, discussions were also carried out on the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens of both countries, as well as on the development of relations in the fields of migration and justice.
