On 4 September 2024, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Samir Sharifov, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Belarus, Igor Nazaruk, who is on a visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, it was particularly emphasized that high-level dialogue provides an important impetus for expanding interaction between the two countries, strengthening the established strategic partnership relations, and developing dynamic cooperation.
Discussions were held on political, economic-trade, cultural-humanitarian cooperation, as well as cooperation within bilateral, international, and regional organizations, regional security, and other issues of mutual interest.
Satisfaction was expressed with the positive dynamics observed in all areas of bilateral relations, and joint projects and initiatives were discussed.
The activities of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus were particularly noted for its role in deepening bilateral economic ties, identifying new promising areas of cooperation, and consolidating them within a legal framework.
It was emphasized that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), hosted by the Republic of Azerbaijan, creates favorable opportunities for new areas of cooperation, and information was provided on the organization of this significant event.
In addition, an exchange of views was held on the legal and contractual framework between the two countries.
