No:201/25, Press release on consular consultations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Sultanate of Oman

On 19 May 2025, the first consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman were held in a video conference format.

 

At the consultations, the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, while the Omani delegation was led by Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Mabsali, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman.

 

The meeting was also attended by Rashad Ismayilov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Sultanate of Oman, as well as responsible officials of the foreign policy institutions of both countries, and representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Science and Education, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of our country.

 

 During the consultations, prospects for the development of cooperation in the consular field between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Sultanate of Oman, as well as opportunities for expanding the bilateral legal and contractual framework in this field, were discussed.

 

 At the same time, discussions were held on providing effective consular assistance to the citizens of both countries.

 

 An exchange of experience was conducted in the field of applying digitalization in the provision of consular services, and it was emphasized that there is broad potential for mutually beneficial cooperation in this direction.

 

 In addition, issues of cooperation between our countries in the fields of justice, internal affairs, education, labor, social protection, and other areas were reviewed.
