On 18 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen Shaya Mohsin Zindani within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, the sides, discussing the current state of political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Yemen, emphasized the importance of intensifying diplomatic contacts.
Issues of mutual support within the framework of international platforms were brought to attention, and the sides noted the importance of cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Within this framework, it was emphasized that the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to be held in our country next year is an important platform for further expansion of cooperation. At the same time, the importance of the World Urban Forum to be organized this year in terms of providing information about Azerbaijan’s experience in the field of urban planning was also noted.
Discussions were conducted on regional security issues, and the importance of stabilization and de-escalation of the situation around Iran was noted. The existing humanitarian situation in Yemen and the importance of efforts aimed at restoring stability were brought to attention.
At the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
