On 14 April 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Transitional Government Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani.
During the telephone conversation, Azerbaijan-Syria relations and the regional security situation were discussed.
During the telephone conversation, the ministers stated that following the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria, there are broad prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria.
Gratitude was expressed for the support provided for the resumption of the activities of our country’s embassy in Syria after a long break. While addressing efforts to strengthen stability in Syria, the importance of our country’s intention to participate in the reconstruction process of Syria, as well as the humanitarian assistance provided to Syria, was emphasized. In this context, the importance of developing the Azerbaijan–Türkiye–Syria cooperation format was noted.
The ministers also exchanged views on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
