On 3 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the delegation led by the Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India, Sibi George.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and India were discussed, and issues of cooperation in the fields of economic and trade relations, energy, tourism and education were reviewed. At the same time, positions on issues constituting differences of opinion between the two countries were brought to attention, and the importance of dialogue in this direction was emphasized.
The sides exchanged views on regional and international security issues, including the existing tensions in the Middle East. The importance of ensuring stability and security in the region was noted. In addition, gratitude was expressed to the Azerbaijani side for the support provided in the evacuation of Indian citizens from Iran.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and India. The political consultations were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, and by the Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Sibi George, from the Indian side.
