No:113/25, Press release on the opening ceremony of the Foreign Policy Program for Young Diplomats

The opening ceremony of the Foreign Policy Program, regularly organized within the framework of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and ADA University, was held. 58 young diplomats who have recently started their professional activity at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the opening ceremony.

 

The aim of this year’s Foreign Policy Program of ADA University is to enhance the theoretical and practical knowledge of young diplomats, prepare young diplomats for bilateral and multilateral diplomacy, as well as support their professional activity in the modern international arena.

 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of ADA University, Elkin Nurmammadov, and his advisor, Head of the Professional Development Program, Aygun Hajiyeva, welcomed the program participants and wished them success in their diplomatic activities.

 

The speakers brought to attention that so far nearly 2,000 young, mid-level and senior diplomats, as well as civil servants representing around thirty state institutions, have benefited from the Foreign Policy Program. At the same time, it was stated that the Professional Development Program has organized special programs for nearly 500 foreign diplomats from 108 countries to date, contributing to their better understanding of our country.

 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Head of the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Raman Mammadov, in his speech called on young diplomats to effectively benefit from the knowledge and skills to be provided by the trainers. It was stated that this program provides a favorable opportunity for their mutual exchange of experience.

 

During the event, detailed information was provided on the content of the program, its main objectives and expectations. It was emphasized that the courses will be taught by nearly 30 trainers, including the faculty of ADA University, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, think tanks, and high-level representatives of international organizations.

 

This intensive course will cover both theoretical and practical sessions. In the theoretical sessions, international politics and law, foreign policy, security, economic, energy issues and cultural-humanitarian relations will be discussed. In the skill-oriented sessions, networking, intercultural communication and other topics will be addressed.

 

The program will conclude in May of the current year. At the end, certificates will be awarded to diplomats who successfully pass the evaluation process.
