No:092/24, Press release on the meeting between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Kairat Sarybay

On 2 March 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Kairat Sarybay, on the sidelines of the 3rd Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan considers CICA as a unique platform for dialogue and cooperation based on a unified set of norms and principles.
As one of the founding members of the CICA process, Azerbaijan highlighted the importance of developing mutually beneficial economic and social cooperation, implementing joint initiatives and projects within the framework of confidence-building measures, and advancing regional and international transport and transit cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on holding a CICA-related event within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), to be hosted by Azerbaijan this year, as well as on cooperation in the field of environment.
