On 26 January 2024, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina, Diana Mondino.
During the telephone conversation, first of all, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed his congratulations to Minister Mondino on her appointment to the high position and wished her success in her activities.
The current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and Argentina were discussed, and the importance of political consultations between the countries was noted. The importance of intensifying the work of the Joint Working Group on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Argentina, as well as preparations for the next meeting, was brought to attention.
The existence of potential for expanding cooperation in various directions, including economic, agriculture, alternative energy, education, culture and other fields, as well as the marking of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the countries last year and the holding of joint events, was noted with satisfaction.
It was noted that the hosting by our country this year of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) is of great importance, and that the event will serve as an important platform for high-level contacts between our countries.
During the telephone conversation, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
