No:469/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the President of Hungary, Tamás Sulyok

On 11 December 2025, within the framework of his working visit to Hungary, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, was received by the President of Hungary, Tamás Sulyok.

 

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Hungary, based on friendship, mutual respect, and close cooperation.

 

The importance of high-level mutual visits, continuous political dialogue, people-to-people contacts, and humanitarian ties between the two countries was emphasized.

 

It was also noted that the outcomes of the 11th meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Hungary, held on 5 September in Budapest, gave additional impetus to the development of bilateral relations.

 

During the meeting, it was highlighted that Hungary is the third-largest investor in Azerbaijan, particularly in the energy sector. Investment plans in the pharmaceutical sector and several other areas were also reviewed. Satisfaction was expressed with the development of cooperation in air transport, and the importance of activities in the fields of green energy, transit and communications, scholarship programs, and other areas was underlined.

 

Confidence was expressed that these and other issues would be discussed in detail within the framework of the 3rd Azerbaijan–Hungary Strategic Dialogue.

 

The importance of further strengthening cooperation based on mutual trust and support within international platforms, including the United Nations, the Organization of Turkic States, and European institutions, was noted.

 

The meeting also included discussions on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
