No:468/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Tatiana Pugh Moreno, Deputy Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and political consultations between the MFAs

On 2 December 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Tatiana Pugh Moreno, Deputy Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

 

At the meeting, issues standing on the existing bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Venezuela, and prospects for cooperation in the fields of economic-trade, energy, tourism, agriculture, culture and education were discussed.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, noting that the existence of intensive political dialogue between the two countries, as well as contacts conducted within the framework of various visits and international events cause satisfaction, noted the importance of such discussions in terms of determining concrete plans in various fields.

 

It was emphasized that our cooperation based on mutual support and solidarity within the framework of international organizations, particularly the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, causes satisfaction, and that it is important to further strengthen cooperation within the framework of multilateral platforms.

 

It was stressed that the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Venezuela will be marked in 2025, and that it would be useful to consider opportunities for implementing joint initiatives and events in this direction.

 

Tatiana Pugh Moreno congratulated Azerbaijan on its successful hosting last month of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and on the high-level organization of the said event, and noted that the outcomes of COP29 are one of the important contributions to efforts to combat climate change.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.

 

Within the framework of the visit of Deputy Minister Tatiana Pugh Moreno to our country, the next, 2nd round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela was also held.

 

During the consultations, the delegation of Azerbaijan was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov, and the delegation of the other side was headed by Tatiana Pugh Moreno, Deputy Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

 

Within the framework of the political consultations, prospects for bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Venezuela, future plans in the direction of further developing relations, joint initiatives, as well as other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest were discussed.
