No:100/25, Press release on the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Ceyhun Bayramov and Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security Berek Arin

On 11 March 2025, within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ceyhun Bayramov, met with the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, Berek Arin.
During the meeting, discussions focused on expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IOFS, particularly exploring opportunities for jointly addressing food security challenges.
Minister Ceyhun Bayramov emphasized Azerbaijan’s important contributions as a donor country to international humanitarian and development assistance programs, and highlighted the importance of promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in addressing the pressing global challenge of food security.
The Minister also noted that strengthening food security on a sustainable basis is one of the key priorities of Azerbaijan’s socio-economic policy and that this strategic issue remains consistently in focus.
Director General Berek Arin expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s contributions to food security programs, highly appreciating the country’s active engagement within the framework of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and its significant role in addressing regional food security challenges.
Particular emphasis was placed on the achievements attained during Azerbaijan’s COP29 presidency. It was underlined that the direct impact of climate change on food security necessitates giving special attention to this area.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest, and the importance of further deepening cooperation in the field of food security was reaffirmed.
Additionally, a comprehensive presentation on the activities of the IOFS was delivered.
