No:072/25, Press release on the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Sheikh Khalifa Ali Issa Al Harthy

On 24 February 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Khalifa Ali Issa Al Harthy.
During the meeting, bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Oman in the fields of economy and trade, energy security, tourism, education, as well as regional and international security issues were discussed.
The importance of bilateral contacts and political consultations in the development of Azerbaijan–Oman relations was noted. It was emphasized that the establishment of our Embassy in Oman has contributed to the advancement of relations.
Detailed information was provided on our country’s initiatives in the fields of green energy, transport, and communications, and opportunities for potential joint projects in these areas were reviewed.
The importance of continuing cooperation within regional and international organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement, was highlighted.
Satisfaction was expressed with Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and the outcomes achieved during COP29, and it was noted that this has created additional opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Oman.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Sultanate of Oman. The consultations were led by Deputy Minister Yalchin Rafiyev from the Azerbaijani side and Vice Minister Sheikh Khalifa Ali Issa Al Harthy from the Omani side.
