Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation of Members of the Australia-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group headed by Luke Simpkins, Member of Australian Parliament

At the meeting, Elmar Mammadyarov expressing satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Australia, noted in this regard the particular importance of mutual visits.

Stressing the indispensable role of parliamentary diplomacy in the development of relations between the states, Elmar Mammadyarov commended the establishment of friendship groups in the legislative bodies of two countries.

The head of Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group on Azerbaijan Luke Simpkins conveying his congratulations on the successful parliamentary elections, noted that they attended as the election observation mission and the elections were held and organized at high level standards. Expressing hope that the visit would contribute to the development of cooperation between the two countries, Luke Simpkins noted that the achievements of Azerbaijan in the political, economic and social fields make a great impression on them.

The sides exchanged views on the development of cooperation in the economic, trade and humanitarian fields between the two countries.
