No:497/24, Press release on the training held on “Foreign policy priorities of the new era and media” jointly organized by the Center of Analysis of International Relations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On 13 December 2024, a training on “Foreign policy priorities of the new era and media” was held for journalists, jointly organized by the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The main purpose of the training is to prevent black PR and disinformation campaigns deliberately and biasedly carried out against our country, and to contribute to increasing the promptness and awareness of the media in the face of possible threats.
Speaking with an opening speech, Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Board of the AIR Center, noted that organizing media trainings in the field of foreign policy is important in terms of increasing the level of awareness among journalists specializing in the said field. According to him, increasing the level of professionalism of media representatives in this field is important in terms of properly highlighting our national interests in the international dimension.
Touching upon the importance of trainings for media representatives, Aykhan Hajizada, Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the purpose is also to train journalists as experts and improve their analytical approaches.
In the first part, Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Board of the AIR Center, delivered a speech on “Azerbaijan’s relations with neighboring states and global power centers: challenges and opportunities”, Aykhan Hajizada, Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on “Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process: opportunities and obstacles”, and Javid Valiyev, Head of Department of the AIR Center, on “Organization of Turkic States in Azerbaijan’s foreign policy”.
In the second part, Akram Zeynalli, Head of the Department for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, Western and Central Asia of the MFA, delivered a speech on “Azerbaijan–China relations at a new stage: expectations”, and Matin Mammadli, Leading Adviser of the AIR Center, on “US–Azerbaijan relations during Donald Trump’s period: obstacles and opportunities”.
During the training, numerous questions of the participants were answered.
11 media representatives participated in the training.
At the end, certificates were presented to the training participants.
