No:489/24, Press release on the visit of Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev to the State of Qatar

On 7–8 December 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev was on a visit to the State of Qatar.
On 7–8 December, the Deputy Minister participated in the 22nd International Doha Forum held in Qatar. The Forum is a global dialogue platform for discussing the important problems facing our world.
Within the framework of the Forum, F. Rzayev participated in the panel session titled “Central Asia and the New Era of Global Energy Security”. Speaking on the topic of “Azerbaijan’s foreign policy”, F. Rzayev spoke about the energy and transport projects initiated by our country and their contributions to the development and security of the region, our country’s policy in the field of transition to green energy and use of alternative energy sources, as well as the works carried out by Azerbaijan’s Presidency within the framework of COP29.
At the same time, within the framework of the visit, a roundtable on the topic of “Azerbaijan’s foreign policy” was held at the Gulf Studies Center under Qatar University with the participation of F. Rzayev. At the event, F. Rzayev answered questions addressed regarding the foreign policy course pursued by our country, current processes taking place in the region, Azerbaijan’s successful Presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and the decisions adopted within the framework of COP29.
