No:481/25, Press release on the meeting between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva

On 22 December 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vladanka Andreeva, on the occasion of the completion of her diplomatic mission.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the United Nations and thanked the Resident Coordinator for her efforts in this direction, wishing her success in her future endeavors.

 

During the meeting, issues on the existing cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the UN, including the status of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), were discussed. Satisfaction with the country’s cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies was expressed.

 

It was recalled that Azerbaijan will host the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), the UN’s main platform on urban development, in 2026. It was emphasized that such events demonstrate Azerbaijan’s leading role in multilateral diplomacy.

 

It was noted that the implementation of the Azerbaijan-UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2021–2025 has been successfully completed, and that the new document for 2026–2030, signed in October of the current year, will mark the beginning of a new stage in Azerbaijan-UN partnership.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the large-scale reconstruction and restoration works carried out in the territories liberated after the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, as well as important steps taken to create an environment of stability and cooperation in the South Caucasus. He noted that the Joint Declaration signed in Washington on 8 August 2025 and other historic agreements constitute a significant stage in advancing the peace process in the region.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov wished the Resident Coordinator success in her future activities.

 

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
