No:458/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu

On 4 December 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Feridun Sinirlioğlu, on the sidelines of the 32nd Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council held in Vienna.

 

During the meeting, key directions of the Azerbaijan–OSCE bilateral cooperation agenda, current challenges faced by the OSCE, regional and international security issues, the situation in the region, as well as the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process were discussed.

 

In the current period, when security in Europe is facing serious challenges, the importance of promoting the unconditional application of the norms of international law, particularly the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of internationally recognized borders, was emphasized.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the counterpart about the situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the outcomes of the Washington Summit, and Azerbaijan’s expectations within the framework of the peace process.

 

The importance of abolishing the Minsk Process and related structures—remnants of the occupation period—for enhancing the effectiveness of the OSCE’s activities and aligning its work with regional realities was underlined, and the achieved results were welcomed.

 

The meeting also included an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest within the OSCE framework and on the security situation in the wider region.
