No:444/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Secretary-General of the King Prajadhipok’s Institute under the Parliament of Thailand, Issara Sereewatthanawut

On 28 November 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Secretary-General of the King Prajadhipok’s Institute under the Parliament of Thailand, Issara Sereewatthanawut.

 

During the meeting, views were exchanged on the expansion of friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Thailand, including parliamentary diplomacy, cooperation between think tanks, and regional issues.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the active role of the Republic of Azerbaijan on international platforms, informing about the country’s chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, COP29, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), as well as the contribution of initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan to global cooperation. He provided information on the World Urban Forum (WUF13), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and CICA summits to be held in Azerbaijan next year, noting that these events would add value to regional and international dialogue.

 

The meeting also covered the contacts of the King Prajadhipok’s Institute with Azerbaijani think tanks, prospects for cooperation within this framework, and issues related to the organization of upcoming consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.

 

The sides emphasized the importance of expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation within the framework of the Parliamentary Network and Youth Organization of the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as Azerbaijan’s observer status in the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.

 

At the same time, scholarship programs implemented by Azerbaijan, opportunities for educational exchange, cooperation in tourism, and the organization of mutual high-level visits were also in the focus of the meeting.

 

The meeting also reviewed other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
