No:428/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

On 29 October, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who is on a visit to our country.

 

During the meeting, prospects for further developing bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries, as well as regional cooperation issues, were discussed.

 

During the meeting, it was noted with satisfaction that high-level mutual visits between the leaders of the two countries, as well as the foreign ministers, political consultation mechanisms, and regional cooperation platforms contribute to raising our friendly and brotherly relations to a higher level. The importance of further developing cooperation in political, economic, trade, high technologies, defense, security and other directions was emphasized.

 

The importance of mutual support within the framework of multilateral formats, including a number of regional and international organizations such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, was noted. The importance of Pakistan’s election as a member of the United Nations Security Council for 2025–2026 was stressed.

 

During the meeting, it was noted that additional opportunities for meetings between the leaders of the countries will be created within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and that this event is a special opportunity for cooperation between the two countries.

 

Along with this, at the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
