No:421/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Ibrahim Boughali

On 4 November 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, within the framework of his official visit to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, met with the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly of this country Ibrahim Boughali.
During the meeting, the Azerbaijan-Algeria bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda, priorities within the framework of inter-parliamentary relations, as well as regional issues were discussed.
It was emphasized that there is broad potential for further development of friendly and cooperative relations, and in this context the importance of mutual visits was highlighted. The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly Ibrahim Boughali recalled with satisfaction his participation in the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network in 2022, as well as his meetings within the framework of the visit of the Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova to Algeria.
It was emphasized that cooperation between our countries in political, economic, humanitarian spheres, including people-to-people contacts, is of great importance. The importance of successful cooperation within international platforms such as the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and others was noted.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that relations between our parliaments, the activities of friendship groups, as well as mutual visits within this framework constitute an important direction of relations between our countries. It was noted that our parliaments also successfully cooperate within international parliamentary organizations and the importance of mutual support between our legislative bodies in these organizations was highlighted.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, post-conflict reconstruction and construction process, as well as the steps taken towards peacebuilding.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on new areas of cooperation and other regional issues of mutual interest.
