On 30 October 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, within the framework of his working visit to Samarkand, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed his congratulations on Uzbekistan hosting the General Conference of UNESCO for the first time.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the dynamic development of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations at the level of strategic alliance in all areas, and joint efforts aimed at further developing the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries were discussed.
Joint activities and projects carried out to further expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investments, transport, energy, culture and humanitarian affairs were reviewed.
During the meeting, the importance of mutual support and cooperation within international and regional organizations, the United Nations, the Organization of Turkic States, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as regional platforms was emphasized.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on regional developments, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
