No:401/24, Press release on consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Colombia

On 4 October 2024, the first consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Colombia were conducted in a video-conference format.
At the consultations, the delegation of Azerbaijan was headed by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the delegation of Colombia was headed by Patricia Cortés Ortiz, Head of the Europe Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia.
During the consular consultations, an exchange of views was conducted on the current state and development prospects of cooperation with Colombia in the consular field, including opportunities for signing new bilateral documents in the field.
At the same time, during the negotiations, discussions were conducted on the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens of the two countries, development of relations in the fields of migration and internal affairs, legalization of official documents or digitalization of issuing apostilles to them, and simplification of mutual visits of citizens of the two countries.
