On 27 September 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Retno Marsudi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, within the framework of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
At the meeting, issues of bilateral, including multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia, as well as preparatory works for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), were discussed.
The importance of developing relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Indonesia in various fields, including economy, transport and tourism, was emphasized.
The importance of developing cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international organizations was noted.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, speaking in detail about the initiatives put forward within the framework of our COP29 Presidency, stated that we are ready to cooperate with Indonesia in the field of combating climate change as well.
Later, the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and service passports” was signed by the Ministers.
