No:388/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Caspar Veldkamp, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

On 27 September 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Caspar Veldkamp, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, within the framework of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

 

At the meeting, various aspects of Azerbaijan–Netherlands relations, as well as the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, were discussed.

 

The importance of mutual visits between the two countries, contacts within the framework of various international events, for reviewing the spectrum of bilateral relations and exploring new directions of future cooperation was noted.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the other side in detail about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and construction works carried out in the liberated territories, measures to combat the mine threat, as well as the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process.

 

The main factors posing a threat to the works carried out towards the signing of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, including the existence of territorial claims against our country in the Constitution of Armenia and other legislative documents, as well as the rapid armament of this country, were stressed.

 

Speaking about the COP29 Presidency activities, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted that we are ready to consider possible cooperation opportunities.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
