No:382/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt

On 26 September 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, within the framework of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

 

During the meeting, congratulations were conveyed to the other side on the occasion of his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, and confidence was expressed that this appointment will contribute to the further deepening of Azerbaijan Egypt relations.

 

It was stated that constructive friendly relations based on mutual respect and trust between Azerbaijan and Egypt have a long history, and it was stated that thanks to close contacts between the heads of state of the two countries, it is possible to preserve and further develop these relations. In this regard, the importance of the recent official visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Egypt in terms of opening a new page for the development of our bilateral relations and revealing numerous opportunities in our cooperation was emphasized.

 

Gratitude was expressed to the other side for the confirmation of Egypt’s participation at the level of head of state in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and it was underlined that this event of global importance may create additional opportunities for Azerbaijan–Egypt cooperation in the field of green energy.

 

The other side was informed in detail about the current situation and realities in our region in the post-conflict period and the course of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

 

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
