On 26 September 2024, within the framework of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Igli Hasani, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania.
At the meeting, issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Albania, as well as the current regional situation, were discussed.
The importance of making joint efforts towards strengthening the relations of the two countries, based on friendship, mutual respect and beneficial cooperation, in political, economic, energy security, culture, education and other dimensions was noted.
It was emphasized that cooperation in the field of energy is the main driving force of bilateral economic relations.
Along with bilateral relations, the importance of continuing the existing mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of multilateral platforms and activities based on mutual support and solidarity was noted.
The other side was also informed in detail about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and construction works carried out in the liberated territories, as well as the efforts made towards advancing the normalization and peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other topics of mutual interest.
