No:378/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with Tete António, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola

On 25 September 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Tete António, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola, within the framework of his participation in the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as preparatory works for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, noting that cooperation with African countries is an integral part of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, stated that opportunities for cooperation with many African countries, including Angola, emerged during Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The importance of using the political consultations mechanism in terms of discussing prospects for the development of bilateral, including multilateral, relations between Azerbaijan and Angola in the economic-trade, as well as humanitarian fields was emphasized.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
