On 11 September 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Damjan Jović.
During the meeting, various aspects of the Azerbaijan-Serbia strategic partnership, including regional and international security issues, were discussed.
The importance of the role played by contacts between the leaders in the development of the existing strategic partnership relations between the two countries was emphasized. The importance of the continued mutual support for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, which underpins the relations, was noted.
The participation and speech of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at the Ambassadors’ Conference of the Republic of Serbia last year was recalled with satisfaction.
The sides also held discussions on cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including energy, defense, humanitarian, education and other areas.
The importance of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on cooperation between diplomatic academies was noted.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on issues of cooperation within regional and international organizations.
On the same day, political consultations were also held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Serbia. The political consultations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev from the Azerbaijani side, and by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Damjan Jović from the Serbian side.
