No:357/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with representatives of the U.S. Certified Trade Mission for the Middle Corridor

On 8 September 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received representatives of the U.S. Certified Trade Mission fon the Middle Corridor who are on a visit to our country.
During the meeting, the historic significance of the discussions held and documents signed in Washington on 8 August of the current year with the participation of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and the United States and the Prime Minister of Armenia was noted, and it was emphasized that these agreements contribute to regional peace and progress while opening great prospects for Azerbaijan-U.S. relations.
In this regard, the importance of the project that will ensure unimpeded transit between the western regions of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of our country was brought to attention.
The efforts made by Azerbaijan over the past decades to revitalize and make the Middle Corridor operational were discussed, and it was brought to attention that these efforts have been realized through concrete projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the Baku International Sea Trade Port, and the Alat Free Economic Zone.
It was also noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan has strategic relations with partner states located to the east of the Caspian Sea along the Middle Corridor, as well as with friendly and brotherly Central Asian countries.
During the meeting, it was stated that Azerbaijan has played an important role in Europe’s energy security for many years, and it was noted that the number of countries currently supplied with natural gas from our country has reached 14.
It was noted that our country is currently carrying out large-scale activities with partner countries for the development and transmission of vast renewable energy resources to Europe, and in this regard the importance of concrete projects such as the construction of the Black Sea Energy submarine cable was brought to attention.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
