On 28 August 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Magdalena Grono.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan–European Union (EU) cooperation, the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process, as well as regional and international issues were discussed.
Issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU in economic, trade, transport, energy security, and green energy, humanitarian and other fields were reviewed. The importance of continuing the dialogue sparked by high-level contacts between the two sides was emphasized.
The European Union Special Representative conveyed her congratulations on the achievements in the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process within the framework of the Summit meeting held during the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United States. She stated that the European Union is ready to support the peace process in various directions.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, informed the other side about the historic agreements reached during the Washington Summit, as well as the progress and prospects achieved in the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization and peace process.
During the meeting, views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest were also exchanged.
