No:279/24, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee

On 2 July 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Bilal Hayee, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in our country.
During the meeting, the strategic partnership agenda between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, issues arising from the recent official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and future plans were discussed.
Ambassador Bilal Hayee was thanked for his comprehensive efforts and professionalism in advancing Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations during his diplomatic service in our country, and was wished success in his future endeavors.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the period during which Ambassador Bilal Hayee began his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan coincided with the 44-day Patriotic War, which resulted in the end of the former conflict and Armenia’s occupation, and expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s consistent moral and political support for our country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
It was noted with satisfaction that the meetings held during the official visit to Pakistan this year, as well as the extensive exchange of views on our strategic partnership relations, and the necessity of utilizing the existing opportunities for the development of our cooperation were emphasized.
The importance of mutual support within multilateral formats, including a number of regional and international organizations such as the United Nations (UN), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), was highlighted. Congratulations were also conveyed on Pakistan’s election as a member of the United Nations Security Council for 2025–2026.
Ambassador Bilal Hayee stated that he was proud to serve as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan during a highly significant period for our country and expressed hope for the further development of relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
