No:260/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Sugiono

On 21 June 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Sugiono, within the framework of the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in the city of Istanbul.

 

During the meeting, the current bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia and the key issues on the cooperation agenda, including opportunities for developing partnership in the fields of politics, economy, transport, and tourism, were discussed.

 

The sides also noted the importance of strengthening cooperation within the framework of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, the D-8, and other international organizations, as well as the importance of joint action in addressing global challenges.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov shared Azerbaijan’s position on the regional security situation and informed the other side about the existing challenges in the normalization process with Armenia.

 

During the meeting, views were also exchanged on the recent tensions in the Middle East, particularly the increasing risks in the region against the background of the Israel-Iran confrontation and their possible implications. The Indonesian side expressed deep gratitude for Azerbaijan’s support in the evacuation of its citizens from Iran.
