No:257/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Mohamad Hasan

On 21 June 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Mohamad Hasan, within the framework of the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in the city of Istanbul.
During the meeting, bilateral and multilateral cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia, the situation in the Middle East, and the Israel-Iran confrontation were discussed.
The ministers emphasized the expansion of political dialogue, organization of mutual high-level visits, diversification of economic and trade relations, and the existence of broad opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, energy, high technologies, and tourism. The contribution of the recent political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs to the development of relations was noted with satisfaction.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Malaysia within multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement is of great importance.
The importance of deepening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Malaysia within the framework of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was also emphasized, and the importance of continuing mutual support in this direction was noted. The importance of our country’s admission to the D-8 organization, which brings together eight developing countries, was particularly highlighted.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
