No:226/25, Press release on the meeting between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Kenya Moses M. Wetang’ula

On 3 June 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Kenya, met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Kenya Moses M. Wetang’ula.
During the meeting, various aspects of Azerbaijan–Kenya relations, the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the development of our cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest were discussed.
It was stated that our country attaches special importance to the development of relations with the Republic of Kenya and to the expansion of cooperation in various fields.
Confidence was expressed that the parliamentary dimension of our bilateral relations, and the strengthening of ties between legislative bodies through parliamentary diplomacy, will expand contacts and exchanges between our peoples.
During the meeting, the sides also emphasized that strengthening the bilateral legal and contractual framework between the two countries will serve to develop cooperation in new promising areas.
The importance of the decisions adopted in the field of combating climate change during our country’s COP29 chairmanship, as well as issues of cooperation within the framework of the World Urban Forum to be held in Azerbaijan in 2026, were reviewed during the meeting.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the other side in detail about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, our country’s reconstruction, rebuilding, demining, and peace agenda.
During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
