No:212/25, Press release on the meeting between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha

On 25 May 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha within the framework of the visit of the Ukrainian Minister to Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on current issues of the cooperation agenda based on friendship and partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, including opportunities for the development of cooperation in the political, economic, energy, transport and humanitarian fields.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the consistent support historically demonstrated by Azerbaijan and Ukraine for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and underlined the importance of developing bilateral relations on the basis of respect for the norms and principles of international law, particularly the sovereignty of states, territorial integrity and the inviolability of borders.
The sides noted that there are prospects for the development of bilateral economic relations in various fields between the two countries and stated that the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine is of great importance for the development of cooperation.
The sides also discussed regional and international security issues and exchanged views on topics of mutual interest in this context.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the reconstruction and rehabilitation works carried out in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories in the post-conflict period, as well as the latest situation regarding the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process and the obstacles created by Armenia in this process.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in turn, highly appreciated the humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan to Ukraine, including support in reconstruction and rehabilitation in the territories affected by the conflict, as well as in the field of humanitarian demining. Minister Andrii Sybiha conveyed his congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of 28 May – Independence Day.
During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
