On 4 May 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, within the framework of his working visit to the Republic of The Gambia.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the dynamics of Azerbaijan–Pakistan partnership relations, and it was stated that mutual high-level visits and contacts of state and government representatives give a special impetus to the development of these relations.
Against the backdrop of the Azerbaijan–Pakistan strategic partnership, it was emphasized that there is significant potential for the development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
It was stated that Azerbaijan attaches importance to mutually beneficial cooperation and support with Pakistan within a number of international organizations, including the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
It was brought to attention that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), to be hosted by our country this year, creates additional opportunities for Azerbaijan–Pakistan partnership in the field of green energy.
During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
