On 4 May 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Hasan Mahmud, within the framework of his working visit to the Republic of The Gambia.
During the meeting, the sides emphasized that high-level mutual visits, political dialogue and inter-agency contacts contribute to the development of cooperation, and highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the context of addressing existing threats and challenges in the modern environment.
The sides also drew attention to the importance of strengthening cooperation within international organizations and expressed confidence that partnership relations will be further strengthened in all areas, including economic, humanitarian and social spheres. At the same time, opportunities for cooperation in the fields of transport, healthcare, education, science and culture were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), hosted by our country this year, creates favorable opportunities for new areas of cooperation.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest.
