On 8 May 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Bui Thanh Son.
During the meeting, the prospects for the development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, the future of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international security issues were discussed.
The importance of mutual visits and contacts between our countries was emphasized, particularly the state visit of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam to Azerbaijan, as well as the adoption of the Joint Statement on Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and Vietnam within the framework of the said visit.
It was noted that there are broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, defense industry, energy security, transport and communications, and humanitarian areas, and the necessity of utilizing mechanisms such as political consultations and platforms like the Intergovernmental Commission to stimulate the use of these opportunities was emphasized.
Cooperation within regional and international organizations, including the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), was discussed, and the importance of continuing mutual support and solidarity was highlighted.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
