No:175/25, Press release on the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya

On 30 April 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya during his official visit to this country.
During the meeting, political, economic, trade, investment, energy, transport, communications and humanitarian aspects of Azerbaijan-Kuwait cooperation, the development of tourism relations, the current security situation in the Middle East, as well as post-conflict regional realities were discussed.
It was emphasized that the existing friendship and brotherhood between the two countries are based on shared historical, cultural and religious ties and are further strengthened by the political dialogue between the leaders of both countries.
Confidence was expressed that the 3rd meeting of the Joint Commission for Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Kuwait, to be held on the same day, would yield effective results in developing practical cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
It was noted that the geographical location of both countries creates favorable conditions for the development of cooperation in transport and communications.
The mutual support and solidarity demonstrated within regional and international organizations, as well as respect for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, were highly appreciated. In this context, prospects for broader cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council, along with other international organizations, were discussed.
Satisfaction was expressed with the cooperation during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and future joint initiatives and possible efforts in combating climate change were reviewed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the counterpart in detail about the situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories, as well as humanitarian mine clearance activities.
The Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, including existing difficulties and challenges, was discussed in detail.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
