No:165/26, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Ahmed Attaf

On 18 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Ahmed Attaf within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
Views were exchanged on the existing bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Algeria, including the prospects for the development of relations in political, economic and humanitarian fields. Within this framework, the importance of the agreement on the establishment of a joint commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries was emphasized. It was stated that bringing together the business community is important in terms of implementing joint projects.
Issues of cooperation and mutual support within the framework of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Non-Aligned Movement and other regional and international organizations, as well as directions of joint activities in the context of our country’s hosting of the OIC Summit in 2027 were discussed.
At the same time, the importance of reducing tension in the Middle East and strengthening the ceasefire, including resolving conflicts through diplomatic means, was emphasized.
At the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
