On 12 April 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil Pinto, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, opportunities for advancing the existing cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Venezuela in various areas, including economy, trade and energy security, cooperation activities within bilateral and multilateral platforms, as well as regional and international security issues of mutual interest were discussed.
The sides reaffirmed the strengthening political ties and mutual respect that characterize relations between Azerbaijan and Venezuela. Confidence was expressed that bilateral cooperation would continue to develop through sustained political dialogue and the exchange of high-level visits.
The ministers discussed opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly in the economic and energy sectors, tourism, as well as potential initiatives in the fields of science and culture, including the implementation of academic and professional exchange programs.
It was emphasized with satisfaction that cooperation based on mutual support and solidarity within the framework of international organizations, particularly the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, is progressing, and the importance of further strengthening cooperation on multilateral platforms was noted.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
