No:114/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Azerbaijan

On 17 March 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nasir Abdulkarim Abdurrahman, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in our country.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Nasir Abdulkarim for his effective diplomatic activity in our country and his contribution to Azerbaijan–Palestine relations, and wished him success in his future endeavors. The Minister conveyed his congratulations to the Ambassador on the occasion of being awarded the “Friendship” Order by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, for his special services in the development of friendly and cooperative relations between our countries, and presented the order.
During the meeting, issues on the agenda of existing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Palestine, as well as the regional situation were discussed.
The existence of a bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries in political, cultural, humanitarian and other areas, as well as mutual support within the framework of regional and international organizations, was noted with satisfaction.
It was brought to attention that Azerbaijan has always supported the “two-state solution” to the Palestinian issue based on the norms of international law, including the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, and has taken practical steps in this direction. The importance of addressing the extremely difficult humanitarian situation in Gaza and observing the ceasefire was noted during the meeting.
Ambassador Nasir Abdulkarim emphasized that he will always remember with pride his nearly 14 years of service as the Ambassador of Palestine to friendly Azerbaijan, and expressed his gratitude for being awarded a high order by the President and for the support shown to him during his tenure.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
