On 9 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Paulo Rangel, made a phone call to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
During the phone call, the sides exchanged views on regional and international security issues.
The Ministers reviewed the risks arising for regional security against the background of the war in the Middle East. Within this framework, it was emphasized that the drone attack carried out from the territory of Iran against the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan is unacceptable and was condemned.
During the phone call, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Portugal were discussed, including political dialogue, economic cooperation, and other issues of mutual interest. The Ministers emphasized the importance of continuing mutual contacts.
