No:101/25, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Kairat Sarybay, and the Ambassadors of the CICA Member States

On 11 March 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Kairat Sarybay, and the Ambassadors of the CICA Member States within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, issues arising from Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of CICA and the priorities of the chairmanship, as well as efforts to expand cooperation within the framework of CICA were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the main priorities of our country’s chairmanship of CICA and noted that, in this direction, there are broad prospects for developing cooperation in the fields of transport and communications, especially taking into account the important geographical position of the CICA Member States.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that our chairmanship is also focused on the institutionalization of CICA and the expansion of its operational capabilities, and in this regard noted the importance of the new headquarters of CICA in terms of further improving the work of the Conference.
It was brought to attention that the processes taking place in our region and in the world increase the role and weight of CICA as an inclusive platform in the region, and the importance of supporting the initiatives and efforts demonstrated during our chairmanship by all Member States, as well as active participation within the framework of CICA was emphasized.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
