No:095/26, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov

On 7 March 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov in Istanbul, within the framework of the informal meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
During the meeting, the current security situation in the Middle East and the observed military escalation in the region were discussed.
The solidarity was expressed with Azerbaijan regarding the drone attacks from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which caused damage to civilian infrastructure and injuries to civilians.
Gratitude was expressed for the immediate statements of support for Azerbaijan made by the President of Uzbekistan and other Uzbek officials following the attacks.
The meeting also addressed issues arising from Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan alliance relations, the continuation of high-level contacts, and prospects for cooperation in various fields.
The views were also exchanged during the meeting on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
