On 2 March 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

 

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of Azerbaijan–Moldova friendly relations.

The importance of continuing successful cooperation between the two countries within multilateral platforms (the United Nations, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, BSEC, and GUAM), as well as maintaining mutual support within international organizations, was emphasized.

 

It was noted that bilateral relations in areas such as investment, trade, energy, and transport have significant potential, in this regard, special attention was given to the importance of the Azerbaijan–Moldova Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, as well as high-level visits.

 

The other side was informed about the current state and prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the existing situation and recent developments in the region.

 

During the meeting, the sides also held discussions on regional issues of mutual interest.
