No:082/24, Press release on the meeting between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait

On 1 March 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kuwait in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as prospects for expanding this cooperation, were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated his counterpart on his recent appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and wished him success in this honorable position.
Speaking about the current level of cooperation between the countries, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kuwait within multilateral platforms.
The sides noted with satisfaction that the current year, 2024, marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait, and emphasized the importance of political consultations, the bilateral intergovernmental commission chaired by the ministers, and meetings for bilateral cooperation between the countries. It was noted that there are broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of tourism, culture, trade, and others.
The Kuwaiti side also expressed its readiness for mutual cooperation within the framework of Azerbaijan’s hosting of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the history of Armenia’s occupation of our territories for nearly 30 years, as well as post-conflict issues following the 44-day Patriotic War, the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the reconstruction and construction works carried out by Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest, including bilateral and regional matters, as well as the situation in the Middle East and Gaza.
