On 15 February 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq Fuad Hussein within the framework of the Munich Security Conference.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq, as well as regional issues, were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that high-level mutual visits and intensive political dialogue between our countries make an important contribution to the positive advancement of cooperation in political, economic, trade, energy, education, cultural and other fields.
The sides also held discussions on the current situation in the Middle East.
The importance of ensuring peace and stability in the region was once again emphasized.
It was highlighted that relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq, based on historical friendship and solidarity, are also reflected in international platforms.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Fuad Hussein noted with satisfaction the meetings held during his visit to our country and the discussions on the development of our relations, stating that his country is interested in further developing relations with Azerbaijan and that there are good opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
